Dustin Parsons is a visiting professor this year, but he has been hired as a permanent member of our English department. This semester, Dustin is teaching Studies in Contemporary Literature, and next semester he will be teaching Fiction Workshop and American Survey.
Dustin, who is from Kansas, has been the recipient of a New York Fine Arts Grant. His book Exploded View: Essays on Fatherhood & Work with Figures & Graphs, is forthcoming from University of Georgia Press.
He said that “Joining the University of Mississippi faculty is a dream come true. The writers and scholars in this department set the bar high with groundbreaking research and innovative new poetry and prose. I’m struck most by how they work together to create a seamless experience for students between the creative and the critical. That’s the kind of environment I thrive in, and that I hope to help foster.”
The Ole Miss English Department and the University of Mississippi are delighted that Mr. Dustin Parsons will be joining us permanently in the fall.
